philosophy · lineage · ecology
argentine philosopher, decolonial feminist thinker, and close collaborator with anzaldúa. her concept of world-travelling, the ability to move between different social worlds and see yourself through others' eyes without losing yourself, maps onto both ecotonal practice and situated knowledge.
her key insight: this capacity is developed through marginality. those for whom the dominant world does not fit must learn to travel between worlds. the ecotone is not chosen by everyone equally, and for many it is the condition of survival. this gives the borderlands framework its political edge. the in-between is not always romantic.
